Our current award-winning exhibition – Woman Making a Change – is in its last week. Many thanks to all the contributors who have made it such a successful display.

Later in the month we will be welcoming a series of artworks by Rosemary Clunie based on the poetry of Ben Okri. Dates to follow.

Back by popular demand, the Freemen of Gwent will be setting up camp in the grounds of Abergavenny Castle to entertain our visitors.

Medieval Life: War and Merriment at Abergavenny Castle

Saturday 9th June. 11 am to 4pm.

Meet the re-enactors, get a closer look at the living quarters of the knights and soldiers, speak to the cooks and discover why the longbow was so feared. Practical demonstrations showing what knights wore and how they used their weapons will take place during the day.

Tickets will be available at the gate: Adult £5, Children £3, Family £15.

This August the castle will be hosting three wonderful new theatrical productions suitable for all the family.

Our much loved summer visitors, the Heartbreak Theatre Company, are performing two brand new productions:

The Midnight Gang, based on the novel by Davis Walliams, on 17th August at 4pm

Pride and Prejudice, based on the novel by Jane Austen, on 22nd August at 7pm

The Pantaloons company will be performing a musical production of The Importance of Being Earnest on 31st August at 7pm.
